Yes, buyers should do an home inspection whether it’s a new home purchase or a resale home. Problems or issues can be found in either home. No home is usually perfect or flawless.
On a resale home, you may find a furnace or a roof at the near end of its life and needing replacement. On a new home, you could find incomplete workmanship, damaged finishes, missing elements, chips in tile, etc…
I would always recommend you seek a professional home inspector to inspect whichever home you are thinking of purchasing.
